Cornerstone Of Hope is a Christ-led , non-governmental organisation (NGO) that has been mainly supporting orphans and vulnerable childrenin the Republic of Zambia since 2003.
Our Mission
We serve orphans, vulnerable children and community to bring positive impact and transformation through our work.
Our Vision
Empowered by hope and compassion, Cornerstone of Hope envisions a future where every child in Zambia, affected by HIV/AIDS, and all orphans and vulnerable children, thrive in a nurturing environment, free from stigma and marginalization.
We strive to create a haven where these resilient children, and single mothers who care for them, can grow, learn, and reach their full potential, shaping a brighter tomorrow for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Our projects for the future
Sponsor a child
We are in need of sponsors who are willing to donate $50/month per child. This will be used to coverthe cost of the children’s school meals (breakfast & lunch) and stationery. We have currently 130 children at school, and number of children increaseevery year, so we need at least $6,500 per month.
Secondary School construction
Our secondary school, which opened in 2024, currently has only 3 small classrooms on the ground floor, a computer room and a chemistry lab on the second floor. The construction of a school building including 6 classrooms, restrooms, kitchen, dining room, office, library etc which cost approximately $500,000 is urgently needed.
An example of how we use your donations, is this access to a water source, through a solar panel powered pump.

A boarding house for unaccompanied orphans, to enable them to live safely and continue their education. Housing for overseas volunteers and interns. Farmland, as we plan to engange in poultry and fishery as income generating activities, as well as to enable self-sufficiency in agriculture and sustainable school operations.

Our history
The Republic of Zambia is a country with a population of 21,134,695, located in southern Africa. 70% of the people in Zambia live under the poverty line (living on USD 1.09 per day) and the economy is deteriorating, with the declaration of default in 2021. In particular, it is said that one in five people is infected with HIV / AIDS, and orphans who lost their parents due to HIV / AIDS are mainly raised by their grandmothers and live on less than $ 1 per day.
People in Zambia face challenges including high rates of unemployment, lack of access to clean water, lack of adequate sanitation, and an increased risk of teen pregnancy. These circumstances leave vulnerable children who live in poverty in need of protection and care. Without intervention, the cycle of poverty in a child’s life will likely continue.
Our actions in rural area of Kasenga Chongwe District
CornerstoneOf Hope is a Christ-led , non-governmental organisation (NGO) that has been mainly supporting orphans and vulnerable childrenin the Republic of Zambia since 2003. Cornerstone of Hope was registered and established in 2003 in Zambia (name changed since 2019) funded by Church in Japan.
Between 2003 and 2010, we were focusingour work in Kasenga Chongwe District where we operateda shelter and community school for orphans in rural areas. In addition, in order to deal with the situation where many mothers are losing their lives due to childbirth because thereis no clinic nearby, we hold a maternity examination and a medical examination for children under 5 years old once a month.
With vulnerable children in N'Gombe slum
And finally our primary preventaive project from 2019 to date: N’gombe Slum where we are currentlyactive in has a population of about 150,000 and is one of the largest slums in the capital Lusaka. We mainly support orphans who have lost their parents due to HIV / AIDS, orphans who are also infected, and children who are extremely poor due to unemployment or illness of their parents. We opened a primary school. Currently, about 130 orphans are learning from baby class to 9th grade.
